NSW PTC 2023 Title Contest Heats Up

The 2023 NSW Production Touring Cars Championship title contest has heated up following Round 4 at Sydney Motorsport Park, with the top three drivers in the standings now separated by just two points.

Simon Hodges (Class X BMW M4) took outright victories in the first two races before Chris Sutton (Class A1 Mitsubishi Evo X) took out Race 3.

However, the real story was the Class D battle, in which Andrew McMaster (BMW 125i) finished first in Races 1 and 3, but slipped to fourth in Race 2. Meanwhile, Sean Cade (VW Golf) took the class victory in Race 1, along with second-place finishes in Races 1 and 3, accumulating a valuable bundle of points from the weekend.

As a result, he has drawn level with Daniel Tierney in both the Class D and outright pointscores, with McMaster just two points behind.

Other class winners in Race 3 (the Trophy Race) were Matthew Holt (Class A2), Michael Auld (who capitalised on dramas for Hodges to win Class X), Adam Gosling (Class B1), Brent Howard (Class B2) and Matt Bolton (Class C).
