Production Touring Cars Eye Off COVID Comeback

An updated NSW Production Touring Cars draft calendar has been unveiled for the 2020 season, with a further three sprint rounds and one endurance round spread across four months to give competitors their racing fix following the suspension of motorsport due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Broadly similar to the original State calendar, the remaining four events will feature tweaks to comply with the NSW Government’s evolving COVID-19 restrictions, together with Motorsport Australia’s ‘Return to Racing’ plan. The new calendar also provides PTC competitors with a great opportunity to compete in both their State and National championship events, pending restrictions lifting in Victoria and QLD.

Club President Robert Coulthard is excited about Production Touring Cars return to competition.

“As one of the biggest classes in the NSW Motor Racing Championship, it is important we lead on the front foot and support the MRC’s attempt at re-starting racing in 2020,” Coulthard said.

The full draft 2020 calendar is below, and subject to change. Competitors seeking to race in one or all of the remaining events of 2020 are encouraged to express their interest to the club, via Facebook or through the committee channels.
