McMaster Goes Back-to-Back

Andrew McMaster has wrapped up back-to-back titles in the NSW Production Touring Cars Championship, winning his second-successive title in both the State and Club Championship points aboard his BMW 125i following the season-concluding endurance race at Sydney Motorsport Park on the last weekend of September.

Completing a successful year for BMW was Stephen Thompson; the Allworth Homes driver has previously been seen behind the wheel of a Mitsubishi Evo and Toyota 86, but the switch to a BMW 135i saw him winning the overall Enduro Cup title by six points from Adam Gosling in his Honda Civic Type R.

As always, the NSW Production Touring Cars Championship places a heavy emphasis on intra-class battles, with the winners of each class recognised individually.

A delighted Brent Howard stepped up to Class X for 2024 aboard a BMW M3 and ended up winning the class, while Michael Osmond took out Class A1.

Long-time category supporter Matt Holt was the winner of Class A2 while Gosling took out Class B1.

Class B2 was the only class in which there were separate winners in the State and Club championships; Tony Virag took out State honours, while Gavin Clarke was victorious in the Club standings.

Matt Bolton was the winner of Class C, McMaster dominated Class D while Ronin Lindenmayer – driving one of Phil Alexander’s always reliable Mazda 3s – took honours in Class E.

All the 2024 NSWPTC class winners and outright Champions will be recognised at a presentation night in Goulburn on Saturday, 7 December.
