Tyre rule for Wakefield Park

The NSW Championship has now moved from the Sprint phase in Rounds 1, 2 and 3 to the Endurance phase for Rounds 4, 5 and 6. Due to the different requirements, conditions and race length, especially in regards to tyre wear, the rules for the Endurance rounds will differ from the Sprint Rounds.

For the Enduro Round 4 to be held at Wakefield Park on August 11 & 12 the Appendix H – 2012 NSW Production Touring Car Championship, Section H1(viii)(d) tyre rule of “A maximum of six (6) tyres that are permitted to be used on each automobile at each round of the championship which may be new or used will be marked by the Technical Committee for the use during qualifying and racing.  These marked tyres are the only tyres permitted to be used on the automobile during any qualifying session or race at that round.” is suspended with the following rule now being

For Endurance Round 4 the tyre allocation is free with no limit to the number of new or used tyres for Qualifying and Races.  Tyres must be as listed in the CAMS Eligible Tyre list.

The tyre allocation rule will also be reviewed for Rounds 5 and 6 and all competitors will be advised as soon as possible after the Wakefield Round of the tyre rule applying to Rounds 5 & 6.
