Starlight Children’s Foundation Announced as Charity of Choice

Production Touring today formally announced it’s support of the Starlight Children’s Foundation through signage and fundraising activities during the coming season.

“We conducted a passenger day as a auction prize for Starlight last year with drivers from Radical, Production Sports Cars, GT and Production Touring. It was a great success and the drivers from Production Touring strongly indicated that they wanted to do more this year.

So, we have adopted Starlight as the focus for our charity work this season. All the cars in the category will display Starlight supporters signage and we will conduct fundraising activities throughout the year.”

Amy Giuliano from Starlight Foundation shares Starlight’s mission statement : “To brighten the lives of all seriously ill children and their families.”

– The sad reality is that every minute of every day a child is admitted to a hospital in Australia.

– For those diagnosed with a serious illness their lives are changed immediately. The impact & stress on the entire family is enormous.  Mum often leaves work to stay at the hospital to care for their sick child, sometimes for months on end.  Dad is at home juggling the other children, running the house, managing their work, coping with the relentless round of hospital trips.  The siblings are worried for their brother or sister but at the same time often feel left out and can be jealous of the attention their sick sibling is receiving.

– This is where Starlight steps in, with a range of programs both in and out of hospital that deliver fun, laughter and positive distraction to support the whole family throughout their journey.

Our first event is our naming rights sponsor, Shaw Vineyards where we will have a auction of prizes from Shaw Vineyards, Envirage Race Engineering and Smith Concepts Designs. We feel that Production Touring can assist with this noble cause and we look forward to working with Starlight Foundation to raise awareness and funds.”
